Mickey Mouse and Friends
He is the Walt Disney company's mascot and is the main character in Fantasia. Mickey Mouse also has television shows with the whole gang including Donald Duck, Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Pluto. Minnie Mouse is his girl friend. His birthday is on 18th Novenver 1928 upon the release of Steamboat Willie, although Mickey had already appeared six months earlier in Plane Crazy (Steamboat Willie being the first Mickey Mouse Cartoon with sound). The anthropomorphic mouse has evolved from being simply a character in animated cartoons and comic strips to become one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. Mickey Mouse has a pet dog. The dog is called Pluto. Pluto has 5 puppies with Minnie's dog, Fifi.
Minnie was designed in the fashion of a "flapper" girl. Her main outfit usually included a feminine bowler hat with a daisy sticking out of it, white gloves and a short dress. In the 1929 cartoon For comedic effect, she wears over-sized high heeled pumps that are too big for her feet. Her heels often slip out of her shoes. Along with Mickey, she was redisigned in the 1940s. Her hat was replaced with a large bow, and bows were added to her shoes as well. Her eyes were also given more detail. As the years passed, her look and personality became more conservative.
Donald is a white anthropomorphic duck with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a sailor shirt, cap, and a red bow tie, but no trousers (except when he goes swimming). Donald's most famous personality trait is his easily provoked and explosive temper. Donald Duck has been officially honored as the third most popular cartoon character of all time with Bugs Bunny of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies at number two and fellow Disney creation Mickey Mouse who is number one.
Goofy first appeared in Mickey's Revue, first released on May 25, 1932. Goofy was created as a human character, as opposed to Pluto, who was a pet, so he walked upright and had a speaking voice There were 48 Goofy cartoons (primarily in the 1940s and 1950s), but he also appeared in many cartoons with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. He was best known for his series of "How to" cartoons, where he bumbled through the explanations. In the 1950s, he appeared in several cartoons as Mr. Geef, with a wife and son.
Pluto was initially a minor character until 1934, when Disney animator Norm Ferguson gave the dog a key role in the cartoon Playful Pluto. Pluto becomes entangled with a sticky piece of flypaper, and Ferguson expanded the sequence significantly. The segment became a classic, demonstrating how Disney artists can take a simple circumstance and build humor through a character.[2]
Pluto is considered one of the first Disney characters to break out of the "rubber hose and circle" formula style the studio had relied on; the dog's design gave him the appearance of actually being round instead of flat. In addition, Pluto is one of the first cartoon characters that is actually shown to have thought processes through the use of character animation.
